Summer pickleball is being played on Tuesdays at the EE tennis/pickleball court, beginning at 7 a.m. We play for a couple of hours, or until it becomes too warm. This schedule will continue until September, possibly to October,  when it will likely change to add additional days.

Just an update on the TV antenna situation. I recently replaced an old and damaged antenna with a Winegard model HD-8800 purchased via the Forum 'For Sale or Rent' listings. We now receive all available channels very clearly. Thanks to Craig who, as always, was a great source of information. Once again the EE Forum came to the rescue.

Joyce,  I got your phone call. Sorry I have not called back.  We will only be in Arizona half of Sept. and Oct. So we will be gone when you arrive. Hope to meet you some time. Check out the hiking at the GVR, it looks pretty good.

Thanks for reminding me that it's worth checking all the providers when we return in the fall, instead of getting lazy and assuming that Cox would still have the best deal.

The $19.99/month pricing with Cox was also an introductory deal.  It went up to their 'regular' price of about $43/mo. after the first three months, so our average for the six months we were there was higher than what you're paying Qwest.  So, it will be worth looking in to!

Mgerrad,

Over the years whenever I had a question about plants/gardening issues I would contact the local Cooperative Extension Service.  They have Master Gardeners who are always very knowledge about plants, trees, etc and their services are free.  Here is their website:

I have the 1.5Mbps service from Quest for $25/Mo. with no contract. This is a promotional price and will revert to a higher price after 12 months.

We enjoy pinochle and are wondering if there are any folks who like to play the game living in Esperanza.  Our style is pretty low key; we like to play three sets and see who wins.  We went to the GVR Club a couple of times, but we miss the kitchen table style that includes visiting and allows for the occasional goof.  We could teach you the game if you want to give it a try.
